LEE, Mass. -- Karli Retzel scored 20 points Tuesday night to lead the Lee High girls basketball team to a 45-31 win over Lenox in the consolation game of the South County tournament.
Retzel hit two 3s in a 16-5 first quarter to give Lee a big working margin.
Lenox, behind 15 points from Jackie Hathaway, played the Wildcats tough through the middle quarters, keeping the martgin at 11 going into the fourth.
But Lee clamped down defensively in the last eight minutes, holding Lenox to just a basket while Retzel and Cara Walker combined to go seven-for-eight at the foul line.
Lenox (0-4) goes to Taconic on Dec. 28. Lee (2-3) travels to Hopkins the same night.
