Pittsfield Knocks Off Springfield Central
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Bre'Jai Ellerbee scored 12 points, and the Pittsfield girls basketball team Friday got off to a hot start in beating Springfield Central, 51-49.
The Generals grabbed a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter and held off the 2024 Division 1 state semi-finalists the rest of the way.
Ellerbee and Madison Stetz each scored four points in the fourth quarter to help secure the win.
Stetz finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Harolyn Castillo had seven points and six boards.
Kyanna Summers also pulled down six rebounds to go with eight points, and Summers contributed nine steals and four assists.
Giavanna Mars scored 16, and Jailyn Garvin-Martin added 14 for Central.
Pittsfield (5-0) hosts Chicopee Comp on Tuesday.
