NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Dezerea Powell and Kyana Summers each scored 10 points Monday to lead the Pittsfield girls basketball team to a 47-29 win over Northampton.

The Generals (2-0) lowered their average for points allowed to 32 points per game.

“We held a full-court for the entire game, and the girls pushed themselves the entire game,” Pittsfield coach Kirsty Conyers said. “Considering we press the entire game it was all around a team effort.”

Caprese Conyers scored seven points, and Madison Stetz and Harolyn Castillo added six points apiece in the win.

Pittsfield hosts Holyoke on Friday.
