North Reading Gets Past Pittsfield Girls

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The North Reading girls basketball team Friday took control of the game in the third quarter en route to a 60-47 upset win over Pittsfield in the first round of the Division 3 State Tournament.

 

Twenty-third-seeded North Reading outscored the Generals, 20-5, in the third to break open a one-point game.

 

Harolyn Castillo scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Pittsfield,

 

Charlotte Goodnow scored eight, and Kyana Summers scored seven to go with five rebounds and five assists.

 

The Generals finish the season with a record of 15-7.

 

North Reading (15-6) moves on to face No. 7 Sandwich in the Round of 16.
