Monument Mountain Girls Qualify for Western Mass
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Anika Helmke scored 10 points to lead the Monument Mountain girls basketball team to a 49-19 win over Taconic on Wednesday night as the Spartans qualified for the Western Massachusetts tournament with their 10th win of the season.
Kayla Aberdale and Sarah Sullivan each scored nine for the Spartans (10-4), who snapped a two-game losing streak.
Shalee Conyers scored six for Taconic (5-9).
Wednesday's game was a makeup of the contest originally scheduled to coincide with the inductions to the Berkshire County Girls Basketball Hall of Fame on Jan. 24.
Monument travels to North Adams to take on Drury on Thursday night.
Taconic goes to Hoosac Valley on Thursday.
