GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Hannah Lacasse scored 13 points Monday to lead a short-handed Drury girls basketball team to a 42-27 win and a season sweep of Monument Mountain.

Addisyn Shepard scored seven for the Blue Devils, who bounced back from a road loss on Friday to stay over .500 at 5-3.

“Very important road win for the team,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “We came into this game facing some adversity. We were down three players [Jacinta Felix, Megan McGrath and Delaney Hayden] and all three have started for us.

“So I knew coming into this game it wasn’t going to be a repeat of Game 1. So I told them someone was going to have to step up, and we were going to have to win it on the defensive end. Our goal was to try and hold Polly [Geddes] under 10 and hold them under 30. If we did that, I knew we had a really good chance of winning by at least 10.”

Geddes scored a team-high eight for the Spartans, who got five points apiece from Caroline Becker and Mallory Lucey.

Monument Mountain (0-9) is at Mount Greylock on Thursday.

Drury hosts Lenox on Wednesday.
