Monument Mountain Girls Down Belchertown in Opener

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- A trio of Spartans finished with 11 points Friday night as the Monument Mountain girls basketball team downed Belchertown, 46-39, in the season opener.

 

Natalie Lewis, Lenah Helmke and Elee Hall tied for game-high honors.

 

Abby Dohoney contributed seven points in the victory.

 

The Spartans combined to go 7-for-12 at the foul line in the fourth quarter to help hold the Orioles at bay.

 

Monument Mountain (1-0) goes to Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
