South Hadley Girls Top Wahconah

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Cara Dean scored 14 points Thursday to lead South Hadley to a 61-38 win over Wahconah in the season opener for both teams.

 

Caitlin Dean scored 13, and Olivia Athas added 12 for the Tigers, who went to the Division 4 State Championship game last winter.

 

Madison McCarthy scored 13 to lead Wahconah, (0-1), which got seven from Sammie Kaley and six from Brooke Harrington.

 

Wahconah is back on the road on Tuesday to take on Monson.
