McCarthy, Wahconah Top Amherst

DALTON, Mass. – Madison McCarthy scored 16 points Monday to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 42-35 win over Amherst-Pelham.

 

McCarthy hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points in the pivotal second quarter, when Wahconah outscored the Hurricanes, 16-4, to take a 24-12 lead into half-time.

 

Emma Jacinto scored 10, and Dani Barry and Anna Doyle finished with five points apiece.

 

Wahconah (8-2) hosts Hoosac Valley on Wednesday.
