Amherst Girls Hold Off Wahconah Comeback Bid

AMHERST, Mass. – Tessa Kawall scored 20 points Tuesday to lead the Amherst girls basketball team to a 47-43 win over Wahconah.

 

Wahconah outscored the Hurricanes, 18-13, in the fourth quarter, but Amherst was able to hold off the visitors’ comeback bid.

 

Olivia Gamberoni scored 24 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead Wahconah.

 

Grace Wigington added 10 in the loss.

 

Wahconah (8-3) hosts Taconic on Saturday afternoon.
