Mendel Leads Hoosac Valley Girls to Victory

ATHOL, Mass. -- Alie Mendel scored a game-high 23 points Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 70-32 win over Athol in the Hurricanes’ season opener.

 

Fallon Field scored 13, and Skylar Case and Lexi Mercier added nine and eight, respectively.

 

Nine different Hurricanes got into the scorebook.

 

Hoosac Valley hosts Greenfield on Friday in the first round of its holiday tournament.
