'Canes Open Title Defense with a Win

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Reagan Shea scored 22 points Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 69-27 win over Greenfield in the Hurricanes’ season opener.

 

Hoosac Valley held the Green Wave scoreless in the first quarter and took a 28-12 lead into half-time.

 

In the second half, Shea scored 20 points – 18 on 3-pointers – to help the reigning Division 5 State Champions pull away.

 

Ashlyn Lesure scored 15, and Emma Meczywor added 10 in the win.

 

Hoosac Valley (1-0) hosts Hampshire on Tuesday.
