Canes Cruise to Western Mass Final Four

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Emma Meczywor scored 17 points Monday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 74-19 win over Smith Academy in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.

 

Ashlyn Lesure scored 15, and Taylor Garabedian and Abby Scialabba added 11 and 10, respectively, for the Hurricanes, who led, 25-0 after one quarter.

 

Top-seeded Hoosac Valley (16-3) is home on Wednesday against Pioneer Valley Christian in the regional semi-finals.
