McGrath, Hurricanes Edge South Hadley

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Averie McGrath scored 17 points on Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 57-53 win over South Hadley.

 

Alyssa Garabedian scored seven points in the third quarter, when the Hurricanes outscored the Tigers by a margin of 20-12 to cut a 27-18 deficit down to one point.

 

Garabedian finished with eight points.

 

Gabby Billetz scored 15 points, and Rylynn Witek added 11.

 

Olivia Marion scored 16 points to lead South Hadley.

 

Hoosac Valley (14-2) goes to Amherst-Pelham on Saturday.
