Hall of Fame All-Star Teams Named
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- A dozen seniors from Berkshire County have been invited to play in the 11th annual Western Massachusetts Senior High School All-Star Games at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, March 25.
The event once again will feature three games starting at 5:30 p.m.
In Game 1, players from Class C and Class D will hook up on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams.
That will be followed by a girls all-star game at about 7 p.m., and the night will conclude with a boys Class A and B all-star game at 8:30.
In the girls game, one team will include Lee's Emma Puleri and Drury's Kayla McGrath.
They will face a team stacked with Berkshire County talent as Taconic's Ahliya Phillips and Faith Cross team up with Hoosac Valley's Averie McGrath and Alyssa Garabedian.
In the Class C and D boys game, Hoosac Valley's Carson Meczywor will on a team matched up against a squad featuring Drury's Ben Moulton and McCann Tech's Jacob Howland.
In the Class A and B boys game, Taconic's Sean Harrigan and Sam Sherman will team up one more time against a team that includes Pittsfield's Tobias Gaulden-Wheeler.
Between the six all-star teams at the event, 60 different high school seniors will represent their schools.
“The Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to celebrate the best high school basketball players Western Massachusetts has to offer with our 11th annual All-Star celebration,” Hall President John L. Doleva said in a news release. “We invite the residents of Western Mass. to come out and support these outstanding student-athletes as they play to represent their communities.”
The evening will include the presentation of the Hall of fame's Western Massachusetts Player of the year.
