Renaissance Girls Down Mount Everett
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Renaissance girls basketball team scored 25 points in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead at half-time en route to a 61-47 win over Mount Everett on Monday.
“I was proud of our effort and no quit mentality just missed on some opportunities that would've pulled us closer,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “No one should hang their head as they battled all game. We will practice tomorrow and Wednesday and then head up to Drury to finish the regular season before Western Mass.”
Emily Steuernagle scored 21 points, and Julia Devoti scored 15 and grabbed eight rebounds to lead short-handed Mount Everett (7-10), which was without starting center Emma Goewey.
