Smith Academy Girls Snap McCann Tech Win Streak

HATFIELD, Mass. -- Olivia Cavanaugh scored 12 points Thursday to lead the Smith Academy girls basketball team to a 48-41 win over McCann Tech.

 

“Tonight we struggled offensively,” McCann coach Kathy Budaj said. “It seemed like we could not get any rhythm. We would do something great on defense to only turn it back over in the offensive end.”

 

Allie Gibeau led all scorers with 15 points, and Aimee Dowling scored 10 for the Hornets (5-7), who saw a three-game winning streak come to an end.

 

McCann Tech looks to get back in the win column on Monday when it hosts Turners Falls.
