Baystate Girls Hold Off Hornets for One-Point Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Lizmarie Sanchez scored 25 points Wednesday to lead the Baystate Charter girls basketball team to a 31-30 win over McCann Tech.

 

Sanchez scored all 14 points for the Phoenix in the second quarter, when it took a 17-12 lead.

 

The Hornets chipped away at that lead in the second half, but Sanchez scored all nine of her team's points in the fourth quarter to help Baystate hold on.

 

Faith Brazeau scored 12 points, and Brooke Reynolds added eight to lead the Hornets.

 

McCann Tech (0-7) goes to Granby on Friday.
