Southwick Girls Top McCann Tech

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Maeve Turnell scored 16 points Tuesday to lead the Southwick girls basketball team to a 42-35 win over McCann Tech.

 

 Macey Tatro scored 14 for the Hornets, who got 11 from Hannah Boisvert.

 

“Tonight we played a great game and came up short,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “We got tired and made some costly turnovers. Playing with only seven [players] to their full bench and having the score be within two points with under two minutes to go says a lot about the heart and soul the girls played with tonight.

 

“We were off all last week and practiced yesterday. Many of our turnovers were mental lapses. We will work on this in practice and get ready for our next game.”

 

McCann Tech (2-3) hosts Easthampton on Friday.
