McCann Tech Girls Win Fifth Straight, Claim Tourney Spot

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Izzy LaCasse scored 16 points Friday, and the McCann Tech girls basketball team beat Pope Francis, 50-31, for the Hornets’ fifth straight win and its 10th win overall to wrap up a berth in the Western Mass tournament.

 

Kaylee Tatro scored 13, and Grace Towler scored 11 in her return to action.

 

“The girls knew there was a lot at stake tonight and came out and got the job done,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “We moved the ball very well and played as a solid unit.

 

The Hornets (10-8) go to Smith Academy on Tuesday.
