Pope Francis Girls Edge McCann Tech

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Makenna Simis scored 13 points Thursday to lead the Pope Francis girls basketball team to a 47-45 win over McCann Tech.

 

The Cardinals rallied from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to hand the Hornets their first loss of the season.

 

Izzy LaCasse scored a game-high 23, and Grace Towler hit three 3-pointers on the way to a 13-point night for McCann Tech (1-1).

 

The Hornets host Lee on Friday.
