SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Abigail DiCampli scored 10 points Friday to lead the Pope Francis girls basketball team to a 40-33 win over Drury.

The Cardinals held the Blue Devils to nine first-half points and took a 31-18 lead into the fourth quarter.

“Very disappointing effort by our team,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “We easily played our worst half of basketball of the season in the first half. Our effort on both sides of the ball was bad, our body language was bad and obviously it affected our play on the court. We did not play or act like the No. 3 ranked team in the state.

“On a positive note we didn’t give up and cut the lead to seven with plenty of time left in the fourth. We unfortunately just couldn’t get over the hump to make it a two-possession game.”

Hannah LaCasse scored eight points to lead Drury, which got five from Ella Bond.

The Blue Devils (5-5) host Mount Greylock on Monday.
