WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Norah Wood scored 17 points Friday to lead the Drury girls basketball team to a 47-37 win at Mount Greylock.

Brooke Bishop added 10, and Jacinta Felix scored nine for the Blue Devils, who jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first quarter.

Mount Greylock rallied in the second quarter behind six points from Tanley Drake to draw within two points, 18-16, at half-time.

“It was a dog fight all night,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “I actually thought defensively we did a great job. To their credit, [the Mounties] hit some big 3’s in the second quarter to keep them in the game. I thought if we could have survived those, it’s a different mentality the rest of the game.”

In the third, Wood hit a pair of 3-pointers on her way to an eight-point quarter, and Bishop scored seven points to help Drury open a 40-30 margin.

“We knew they weren’t the same team we faced last time,” Downey said of Mount Greylock. “Norah Wood had a career night, and without her I think it’s a different game in that fourth quarter. She hit big shot after big shot all game long. It always seemed like when we needed a basket, she was there to hit it for us. So hats off to her.”

Drake finished with 13 points for the Mounties, who got eight points from her sister Madison and seven from Jackie Brannan.

Mount Greylock (3-10) is at Pope Francis on Monday.

Drury (5-5) hosts Belchertown on Monday.
