McGrath, Drury Girls Win Season Opener

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Kayla McGrath scored 20 points Monday to lead the Drury girls basketball team to a 48-42 win over Belchertown in the Blue Devils' season opener.

 

Drury took control of the game with a 16-8 second quarter to bring a 26-23-lead into the locker room.

 

McGrath scored seven points, and Alyssa Russell hit a pair of 3-pointers in that quarter.

 

Russell finished with 18 pointers, and Jacinta Felix scored seven in the win.

 

Avery Klingensmith scored 11 points to lead the Orioles.

 

Drury (1-0) goes to Monument Mountain on Friday.
