Lee Girls Hold on to Beat Monument

LEE, Mass. -- Brianna Hawley scored nine points on Monday to lead the Lee High girls basketball team to a 33-30 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Kendra Williams added seven for the Wildcats (8-7), who held off a furious comeback attempt by the Spartans in the fourth quarter.

 

Monument Mountain outscored Lee, 16-11, in the last eight minutes. Hallie Hassett scored five points, and Anika Helmke scored six of her game-high 11 in the fourth.

 

Lee, which has won five of its last seven, hosts Mount Greylock on Monday.

 

Monument (5-9) travels to Drury on Thursday.
