LEE, Mass. – Giana Carlino scored 18 points, and the Lee girls basketball team Thursday got its fifth straight victory with a 50-35 win over Ludlow.

Mia Puleri hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points in the first quarter as the Wildcats built a 14-3 lead.

After the Lions got to within seven points at half-time, Lee outscored Ludlow, 16-2, in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

Carlino and Tamia Andrade (nine points) each scored five in the third quarter.

“Mia [Puleri, 12 points] got off to a hot start in the first quarter and our defense created a bunch of turnovers,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “Giana picked up the scoring in the second quarter and we got the win on a sloppy night where we had too many turnovers. It wasn’t always pretty but we got the win.”

Lee (6-2) goes to Granby on Monday.
