Maloney, Lee Girls Set Date with Hoosac Valley in Final

LEE, Mass. – Caroline Maloney scored 24 points Wednesday to lead the Lee girls basketball team to a 52-35 win over Mount Everett in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D regional tournament.

 

Maloney scored 11 points in the third quarter, when the Wildcats built on a 23-16 half-time lead to take a 40-23 advantage into the fourth-quarter.

 

Brianna Kelly scored 11, and Carina Brown added eight in the win.

 

Emma Goewey and Emily Steuernagle each scored 13 to lead Mount Everett (8-12).

 

Lee (16-4) moves on to Saturday’s regional final against Hoosac Valley at a time and location to be announced.
