Two From Miss Hall's Hoop Team Named All-League
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Miss Hall’s School announces that two student-athletes have received recognition for their performances during the winter sports season.
Sophomore Grace Guachione, of Pittsfield, and senior Nanya Okeke, of Hillside, N.J., both members of the MHS varsity basketball team, have been named New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class-C All-Stars. The pair helped propel the Hurricanes to a 20-6 overall record and the team’s second-consecutive NEPSAC postseason appearance.
Guachione, making her second straight all-star appearance, was the Hurricanes’ starting point guard, averaging 17.7 points-per-game and leading MHS in scoring, with 464 points (852 career). She also led the team with 117 assists and 135 steals. Along the way, Guachione was named the MVP of the annual Stoneleigh-Burnham School Holiday Tournament, which Miss Hall’s won this year.
Okeke, making her third consecutive all-star appearance, recorded a team-leading 247 rebounds and scored 230 points (8.7 ppg), while anchoring the team’s inside play. Last fall, Okeke was named to her second-consecutive Western New England Prep School Volleyball Association (WNEPSVA) all-star team for her stellar play with the MHS varsity volleyball team.
