Patella Leads Lenox Boys in Showdown with Monument
LENOX, Mass. -- Luke Patella scored 20 points to lead three Lenox boys basketball players in double figures as the Millionaires edged Monument Mountain, 66-63, on Thursday night.
Lenox led by 10 going to the fourth quarter and held off a furious comeback from the Spartans.
Dion Brown scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, going 8-for-10 at the foul line in the period, helping the Spartans put up 20 points.
But the could not overcome a 21-12 second quarter for the Millionaires.
Patella scored 11 points in that second period, which sent Lenox to the locker room with a 38-31 lead.
Andre Collins scored 19 points, and John Fielding added 13 for Lenox, which got nine points from Averin Paradise.
Caden Gidarakos scored 15 for the Spartans (5-3), who are off until next Friday, when they host Mount Greylock.
Lenox (7-2) takes a two-game winning streak into Friday evening’s game at Hoosac Valley.
