Mahar Holds Off Lenox Boys
LENOX, Mass. – Jayden Delgado scored 17 points Thursday to lead the Mahar boys basketball team to a 53-48 win over Lenox.
The Senators outscored the Millionaires, 18-10, in the second quarter to take a 30-24 lead into half-time and held on to hand Lenox its second straight loss.
“Hard fought game,” Lenox coach Bailey Patella said. “We led after the first quarter and then a big second quarter for them gave them a six-point lead going into the half. We fought to cut the lead but come not get over the hump.
“We need to execute better down the stretch and finish the games. We are right there, gotta just keep working.”
Chris Lyon scored 13 points to lead Lenox. Luke Gamberoni scored nine, and Duke Jaehnig and Zack Nicotra added eight points apiece.
Lenox (4-4) goes to Lee on Tuesday.
