Harley Leads Pittsfield Boys in Win at Holyoke
HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Kymani Harley scored 17 points to lead four Pittsfield Generals in double figures as PHS defeated Holyoke, 62-41, on Thursday night.
Joe Cracolici scored 14, and Donte Cruz and Carter Matthews added 10 points apiece as Pittsfield improved to 2-0.
Pittsfield coach Brandon Mauer cited some contributions from players who did not add to the scoring total -- directly, at least.
“Sam Higuera handled the pressure well, controlled the tempo, and made the right pass all game while simultaneously playing tough defense on the opposing point guard making it hard for Holyoke to get into their offense,” Mauer said. “. Darius Diaz scored 13 to lead Holyoke.
“Holyoke is a very good team and we gave them a great performance on the defensive end, making it difficult from the opening tap,” Mauer said.
The Generals travel to take on Doherty Memorial on Saturday.
