Pittsfield's Brown, Monument Mountain's Holmes Recognized
This week's iBerkshires.com Athletes of the Week led their teams to big wins over county rivals.
The Monument Mountain girls swim team established its dominance in the Berkshire County League on Wednesday, when it completed a season sweep of rival Pittsfield.
Spartan senior Zoe Holmes helped account for 36 points in Monument Mountain's 89-81 win at the Berkshire South Regional Community Center.
Holmes started her meet with a leg on Monument's winning 200-yard medley relay quartet.
She then won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke before ending the meet by swimming anchor on her team's winning 4-by-100 freestyle relay.
Two days later, Holmes changed up her program with wins in the 50 free and 500 free in a victory over Mount Anthony as the Spartans stayed unbeaten this winter.
Da'Sean Brown and the Pittsfield boys basketball team have tasted defeat this season ... but it has been a while.
The Generals this week rolled up their seventh- and eighth-straight wins in impressive fashion.

Brown was a big factor in both wins, scoring 18 against the Spartans and a game-high 22 at Chaug.
For the season, he leads Pittsfield with 15.6 points per game and nearly two 3-pointers per game.
On Tuesday, Pittsfield is right back at it in league play when West Springfield visits East Street for a battle for first place in the Suburban North.
