Paulo Friere Cools Off Red-Hot Mounties in Semi-Final

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Manny Cruz scored 23 points Wednesday to lead the Paulo Friere School of Social Justice boys basketball team to a 71-55 win over Mount Greylock in the Western Massachusetts Class C tournament semi-finals.

 

Chase Doyle led Mount Greylock with 13 points. Jackson Powell and Seamus Barnes each scored 10.

 

The Mounties (15-5) saw a seven-game winning streak come to an end with the loss. They will learn this weekend where and when they will start play in next week's state tournament.

 

Paulo Friere Saturday will face Drury in the regional final at MCLA.
