Hopkins Academy Downs Wahconah at Hoophall Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Justin Ciaglo scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Thursday to lead the Hopkins Academy boys basketball team to a 63-47 win over Wahconah at the Spalding Hoophall Classic at Springfield College.

 

Wahconah (5-2) jumped out to a 13-6 lead early, but Hopkins took control with a 14-5 run that started with a jumper by Jon Morrison (11 points) midway through the first quarter and ended on a 3-pointer by John Earle early in the second to give the Eagles a 20-18 lead.

 

Hopkins closed the second quarter with a 13-2 run and went to the locker room up, 35-25.

 

Tom Burris led Wahconah with 14 points, and Antwaun Fye added nine.

 

Wahconah hosts Drury on Tuesday.
