Hoosac Valley Marks Milestone, Beats Baystate

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Joey McGovern hit four 3-pointers on the way to a 21-point night Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 58-26 win over Baystate Academy.

 

McGovern scored 16 of his points in the first quarter, when the Hurricanes outscored the visitors, 22-2.

 

Adan Wicks scored nine points, and Trevory Moynihan added six in the win.

 

Before Friday’s game, Hoosac Valley honored coach Bill Robinson for earning his 400th career victory the last time out at Belchertown.

 

Robinson will look for win No. 402 and the Hurricanes will look to improve on their 8-1 record on Tuesday when they go to Monument Mountain.
