Taconic Wins at Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Kyle McGrath scored 20 points Monday to lead the Taconic boys basketball team to a 46-42 win over Amherst.

 

The Thunder weathered a rough third quarter in which the Hurricanes erased nearly all of a 24-17 half-time deficit and went to the fourth down by just a point, 35-34.

 

McGrath and Nate Reynolds (seven points) each scored four in the fourth quarter to help Taconic hold on for the win.

 

Mitchell Carey led Amherst with 18 points.

 

Taconic (4-1) goes to West Springfield on Friday.
