Mount Everett Comes From Behind in Double OT Win
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Jack Carpenter scored seven of his 17 points in the second overtime as the Mount Everett boys basketball team defeated Phoenix Charter, 70-65, on Sunday.
After trailing, 33-17, at half-time, the Eagles allowed just 14 points in the second half to come back and tie it, 47-47.
Carpenter and Ben Monteleone (14 points) each scored five in the first overtime period, which ended in a 59-59 tie.
Four Eagles finished in double figures. Patrick Silk scored 16, and Justin Foster had 10 as Mount Everett snapped a five-game losing streak.
The Eagles (4-14) go to Housatonic Valley on Monday.
