Howland, Hornets Catch Eagles in Fourth Quarter

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Jacob Howland scored 29 points Thursday to lead the McCann Tech boys basketball team to a 59-58, come-from-behind win over Mount Everett.
 
The Hornets outscored the Eagles, 25-13, in the fourth quarter to avenge an early season loss to Mount Everett in the Franklin Tech Tournament.
 
Howland scored eight points in the fourth, and Zach Howland and Jack Dolan each scored five. As a team, McCann Tech knocked down three 3-pointers in the period.
 
Zach Howland finished with 10 points, and Dolan and Colby Mark each scored six.
 
“It was a great game,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “Very hard fought. I’m proud of our guys and the way they fought together. Howland was phenomenal.”
 
Michael Ullrich scored 19 to lead the Eagles, who got 14 from Matt Lowe and 11 from Jason Peck.
 
Mount Everett (6-3) goes to Lenox on Tuesday. McCann Tech (5-4) is at Lee on Tuesday.
 
The Eagles and Hornets will play at least one more time this winter when they meet in Sheffield on Feb. 7.
