Berkshire County Officials Name All-Star Game Rosters
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire County Basketball Officials, IAABO Board No. 25, has announced the players selected for the Berkshire County Basketball All-Star Game to be played Friday, March 15, at Taconic High School.
The girls game will tip off at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game at about 8.
The officials started the All-Star game three years ago as a fund-raiser for their Oswald Tower Scholarship award, which will be presented to this year's recipient between games. The officials will also be announcing their four sportsmanship award winners during half-time of each game, as well as their choice for the Coaches Sportsmanship award.
In addition to honoring the players, the officials also plan recognize former coaching great Tom Kinne. Kinne will be coaching one of the girls teams while this year's Coaching Sportsmanship winner, Kathy Budaj from McCann Tech, will pilot the other team.
Playing for Coach Kinne and honoring former official Lou Markham: Mount Everett seniors Gwendolyn Carpenter and Madison Ullrich; Monument Mountain senior Meri Powell and junior Fiona HOran; Lenox senior Nicole Gamberoni; Lee freshman Emma Puleri; Wahconah senior Abigail Steinman and sophomore Maria Gamberoni; and Pittsfield seniors Lexi Garvey and Natasha Shade.
Playing for coach Budaj and honoring former official Jack Domurat: Drury seniors Brooke DiGennaro and Hayley Shook; McCann Tech sophomore Grace Towler; Mount Greylock senior Maddie Albert and junior Maddy Ross; Hoosac Valley seniors Lexi Mercier and Alie Mendel and junior Riley Robinson; and Taconic senior Johnahyah Curry and junior Taea Bramer.
Coaching the boys teams will be Wahconah's Dustin Belcher and Monument Mountain's Randy Koldys.
Playing for Coach Belcher and honoring former official Churchill Cotton: Lenox senior Shane Steinman and junior Jett Steinman; Wahconah senior Tom Burris and juniors Tom O'Connor and Kevin Huban; Pittsfield seniors Joe Cracolici and Seyvon Kouao and junior Kymani Harley; Lee senior Ben Harding; and Mount Everett senior Patrick Silk.
Playing for Koldys' team and honoring former official Mark Alford are: Mount Greylock junior Toby Foehl; Drury senior Reece Racette and junior Scott McGuire Jr.; Taconic seniors Quentin Gittens and Quincy Davis and junior Isaac Percy; McCann Tech senior Jeremy Beany; Monument Mountain senior Noel Powell and sophomore Dion Brown; and Hoosac Valley senior Sam Larabee.
In addition to honoring the players and coaches, the officials also be honoring the All-Star table officials from Mount Everett: official scorer Amy Carpenter, official timer Joe McSiritt and official 30-second timer Denny Sullivan. Often overlooked by the fans who attend the game, Berkshire County Officials understand the importance of the job that these table officials perform for every game. They are the foundation for a smoothly run game, and the officials are very appreciative of their effort.
The event will be a great and positive way to celebrate Berkshire County Basketball. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens over 65, and free admission for all active or reserve military.
