PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Jerry McDonough scored 14 points and went 4-for-6 at the line in the fourth quarter to help the Pittsfield boys basketball team to a 62-58 win over Hoosac Valley on Tuesday night.
"We were out rebounded, out hustled, and pretty much outplayed in every part of the game," Pittsfield coach Steve Ray said. "We got a tremendous effort from juniors Louis Higuera and Connor McDonough that kept us in the game. Gerry McDonough's foul shooting in the last few minutes was key."
"They are a tough team, we dodged a bullet tonight."
Connor McDonough scored 11, and Higuera had a team-high 15. Chad Shade added 10 in the win.
Hoosac's Jameson Coughlan scored a game-high 22, and Matt Koperniak had 16.
