NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Shane Fuller scored 22 points to lead the McCann Tech boys basketball team to a 74-46 win over Smith Vocational that gave the Hornets the Tri-County Championship on Tuesday night.
McCann's win coupled with Franklin Tech's 69-60 upset over Gateway leaves the Hornets all alone at the top of their league.
McCann (14-6) got off to a quick start with three Collin Racette 3-pointers in the first five minutes of the game. He ended up with four 3s and 17 points, and Cristian Montoya added 13.
McCann made six 3s as a team in the first five minutes and left the first quarter with 26-11 lead.
"We moved the ball extremely well in addition to shooting the ball well," McCann coach Mike Nykorchuck said.
McCann finished the season 14-2 in the Tri-County and qualified for the Western Mass tournament.
But first it will play in the State Vocational tournament. Pairings for that event will be announced on Wednesday.
