CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Collin Racette hit a 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds on the clock from 23 feet out to give the McCann Tech boys basketball team a 52-49 win over Holyoke Catholic on Friday night.
Racette scored a career-high 20 points as the Hornets improved to 11-1 in the Tri-County League this year (11-4 overall), setting the stage for Tuesday's Tri-County showdown against Franklin Tech (11-1).
McCann led by eight points at half-time, but Holyoke Catholic stormed back to take a three-point lead in the third thanks to Andrew Foley scoring 12 of his game-high 22 points in the period.
But Shane Fuller was able to contain Foley in the fourth quarter, holding him to three points.
Fuller and Rahmer Vincent each finished with 10 points for the Hornets.
