WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Des Cobb Monday scored 35 points to lead the Mount Greylock boys basketball team to a 57-51 win over Mount Everett.
Cobb scored 14 points in the first quarter, when the Mounties outscored the Eagles, 20-3, to take control of the game.
Mount Everett fought back in the third, using five 3-pointers – three from Dominic Germain, two from Sean Warren – to outscore the Mounties, 24-8, to get within two points of the lead.
But Cobb scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as Mount Greylock outscored Mount Everett, 15-10, in the final eight minutes to secure the win.
Noah Kane-Smalls, Ward Bianchi and Judge Martin each scored seven points for Mount Greylock.
Michael Ullrich scored 22 to lead the Eagles, who got 14 from Germain and 12 from Warren.
Mount Everett (12-6) awaits its next opponent in next week’s Western Mass tournament.
Mount Greylock (8-9) hosts Turners Falls on Thursday.
