NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Walter Mazza scored 12 points, and the McCann Tech boys basketball team played lockdown defense in a 57-23 win over the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School.
“Good win tonight,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “Everyone chopped in. We had a tough night shooting the ball, but the defense was outstanding.”
It really shone in the middle quarters, when the Hornets held their guests to four points in the second and just two in the third to build a 41-13 lead going to the last eight minutes.
Jacob Howland scored 10, and Kyle Rougeau and Hayden Boucher added seven points apiece in the win.
McCann Tech (2-0) goes to Mount Everett on Tuesday.
