SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Frank Field Monday flirted with a triple double in leading the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to an 84-52 win over Baystate Academy.
Field scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and passed out eight assists as the Hurricanes stayed unbeaten with their third straight win to open the season.
Qwannell Bradley also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, and Trevor Moynihan scored 14 points in the win.
Hoosac Valley opened strong, outscoring its hosts, 20-2, in the first quarter. Adan Wicks scored seven points in the quarter, going 5-for-6 at the free throw line in the process.
Wicks finished with eight points, and Joey McGovern added nine for the Hurricanes.
Hoosac Valley comes home on Thursday to play Belchertown.
