NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The McCann Tech boys basketball team stormed back from a 15-point deficit with 2 minutes, 35 seconds left to earn a 57-55 win over Blue Hills Saturday in the State Vocational Small School Division semi-finals.
Cole Boisvert scored seven of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, and Landon Champney hit a lay-in with 10 seconds left for the game-winner.
“[Boisvert] was huge,” McCann Tech coach Chris Bullett said. “He really stepped up his ‘D,’ and everyone followed. Every guy contributed in the comeback, though.
“It was special.”
Jacob Howland led the Hornets with 16 points, and Owen Gagne scored 12.
Champney and Colby Marko finished with five points apiece.
McCann Tech (13-8) travels to Upper Cape Tech in Bourne, on Sunday afternoon to play for a State Voc Championship, the first game of a rare post-season home-and-home; Upper Cape comes to North Adams on Tuesday in the preliminary round of the State Division 5 tournament.
