WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Chase Doyle knocked down three 3-pointers in the pivotal third quarter Wednesday as the Mount Greylock boys basketball team earned a 44-39 win over McCann Tech.
Doyle finished with 14 points, tying for game-high honors with the Hornets’ Jacob Howland.
Mount Greylock trailed, 17-14, after a low-scoring first half. But the Mounties, helped by Doyle’s triples, outscored the visitors, 20-15, in the third to take the lead.
Doyle scored five more in the fourth quarter to help secure the win.
Jackson Shelsy scored 13 points, and Elias Robinson and Jackson Powell added five apiece in the win.
McCann Tech got 12 points from Walter Mazza and nine from Owen Gagne.
Mount Greylock (14-4) and McCann Tech (12-6) both learn their next opponents on Saturday when the Western Massachusetts regional tournament seeds are announced.
