WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Drury boys basketball team Wednesday cruised past Mount Greylock, 64-35.

Ben Moulton led all scorers with 23 points including six 3-pointers. Louis Guillote added 13 and Logan Davis had six.

It was a nice bounce back win for Drury (2-1) after a defeat earlier in the week to Monument Mountain. The Blue Devils were aggressive on defense and were able to move the ball at will against the Mount Greylock (0-2) zone giving them easy looks all over the court.

Drury was able to hold Mount Greylock to just three points and zero field goals in the first quarter to take a 12-3 lead. They continued that style of play in the second quarter and did anything they wanted on both sides of the floor.

“We gotta get better every game, we’re starting to find our identity, see who the scorers are and where we have to get the ball,” Drury coach Jack Racette said. “I thought defensively we got into people early and that’s where it starts, When we defend well we start to shoot the ball well.”

Drury outscored Mount Greylock 22-5 in the second quarter and pretty much wrapped up the game before the half. For as good as Drury was offensively, a big help came from the big men securing offensive rebounds for second chance points. They were able to extend plays and really deflate any chance Mount Greylock had of getting a run going.

“Tim Brazeau is going to make a living on the glass and we’re starting to get Guilotte to understand there is a lot of reward on the glass,” Racette said. “Coming off the bench we have Davis, who is long, so the offensive glass is important. We shot well tonight but when we aren’t shooting well, we need to rebound.”

Drury continued to widen the gap in the third quarter allowing the starters to get some rest and look ahead to their fourth game in seven days on the road against Lenox Friday.

Mount Greylock (0-2) was led by Jackson Shelsy, who scored eight. The Mounties will search for their first win of the season against Lee on the road Friday.
