CHESHIRE, Mass. – Carson Meczywor scored 32 points Saturday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team to a 74-61 win over Renaissance.
The Phoenix led most of the first half, but Frank Field hit a corner 3 at the buzzer to put the Hurricanes up by four points at intermission.
Meczywor then scored 12 – nine on 3-pointers – in the third quarter, as Hoosac Valley pulled away with a 27-14 period to stretch its lead to 17.
Field finished with 13 points. Mikey White scored 10, and Michael Szabo added nine.
Allen Miranda scored 20 to lead Renaissance.
Hoosac Valley (8-4) hosts Wahconah on Monday.
