SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. -- C.J. Bassett and Logan Reilly each scored 14 points Saturday to lead the Hoosic Valley, N.Y., boys basketball team to a 63-50 win over Lee.
Collin O’Brien scored a game-high 18 for the Wildcats, who trailed by 10 after the first quarter and never managed to completely climb out of the hole.
“Tough Loss tonight,” Lee coach Eric Cardinal said. “I felt it was our most complete game played this season. We controlled turnovers and everyone pitched in. We’ve got to be better on the defensive end. Defense is effort driven and tonight we just gave up a lot of easy buckets.
“Second half we were very resilient, out scoring Hoosic, 31-30. I was proud of the way we fought back and didn’t give up. Tag Roosa and Jack Purcell really ignited a spark from the bench which fueled the rest of the team.”
Evan Heath scored 11 points and Declan Drozd had nine for Lee (1-3).
The Wildcats go to Mount Everett on Friday.
